The Clarkson Village B.I.A. (Business Improvement Association) was originally formed with the assistance of local Ratepayer Groups.
Today, the Clarkson BIA consists of a strictly volunteer board of directors, which is an organization set up to provide business promotion and improvement functions for 145 merchants. Meetings are held monthly.
Geographically they manage the Clarkson Village that is located between east of Southdown Rd through east of Meadow Wood Rd on Lakeshore Rd in the City of Mississauga. Setting up and establishing a business in this location results in automatic membership.
The BIA has a three fold mandate:
- To oversea the beautification, maintenance and improvement of the Village
- To promote and assist merchants as the needs arise. To keep them advised of proposals that may affect their business and operations through regular communication.
- To promote the community as a shopping district.
In carrying out these responsibilities the BIA has become involved in numerous activities, which often include:

Maintain constructive relationships with Council, police and other special interest groups who affect the community in which we work and live in. Boundaries are set by and controlled by the City. Board of Directors acknowledged by City By-Law.
The Clarkson BIA also acts as an information resource for all of its members.
Ward 2 Councillor Pat Mullin sits as a member of the Board, and as a liaison between the Board and the City of Mississauga.

Clarkson Village BIA has its own Newspaper "Clarkson’s Corners" published 4-6 times yearly. Our goal is to promote our merchant/members and advertise our special events here in the Village. |
